The Sports Zone Baseball Academy is in its fifth year of existence with
teams that range from ages 11U to 18U. The Academy had its most
successful season in 2009 winning 10 tournament championships and 5
2nd place finishes in the 30 tournaments that were entered. The Sports
Zone Express (34 wins) and the Sports Zone Lookouts (29 wins) posted
the two highest win totals in the Academy history.
The 2010 Sports Zone teams look to improve upon the success of last
year. The Sports Zone teams (ages 11 - 14) will compete in 8 tournaments
across the North East ranging from Rehobeth Beach (DE) to Detroit (MI).
The Sports Zone summer teams (15U - 18U) will compete in four
showcase oriented tournaments and compete in the local WPEBL and
ACBLto give our players exposure to college coaches from different areas.
The primary goal of the Sports Zone Baseball Academy is to provide local
baseball players the best instruction, professional atmosphere and
opportunity to understand what it takes to play collegiate baseball. The
Sports Zone winter instructors include (Clayton Hamilton - Texas
Rangers, Nate Nery - Baltimore Orioles, Brain Holliday - Pittsburgh
Pirates, Doug Piatt - Montreal Expos, Jory Coughenour - Houston
Astros, Patrick Cutshall - Houston Astros).
